Job Search Advice, Urgent Urgent Emergency!

If you’re trying to find a new job, it’s important to maintain a sense of urgency in your job search efforts. Here are a few job search tips to help you stay on track…

Devote Yourself Completely to Your Job Search – Treat your job search like it’s the most important job you’ll ever have. Give your best effort in every aspect of your job hunt. Set aside a dedicated time each day to focus on finding that job. If you are currently out of work, spend a full 8 hours each day for your search. Get up early and work late on any task that will get you closer to landing a job.

Have a Plan – Make a job search strategy by listing where you are now on one side of a piece of paper, and your ideal job at the other end of the paper. Then list every thing you need to do to get from where you are now to where you want to be. Evaluate your skills, experience, likes, dislikes, and narrow down exactly what type of job you are looking for: Know how much money you need to make, and how much money you’re worth. Know where you want to work (geographically). Evaluate and select specific companies you want to work for, and write ideas of how you could get an interview with them. Create a plan in as much detail as you can.

Follow Your Plan – Commit to a daily schedule and stick to it. Stay focused. Take action, action, and more action. Just pull out your job search plan every day and do as many tasks as you can. The more you stick to it, the more action you take, the sooner you’ll have that job!

To your success!
